“EXCELLENT STUDENT CONTEST OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DA NANG IN 2018”

The Excellent students Contest of The University  of Da Nang(UD) is a meaningful traditional event held every 2 years with the aim of building and developing student’s movement in learning;  reinforcing and perfecting their basic knowledge; improve their knowledge and skills of natural sciences, engineering, economics, social sciences and humanities, Marxist and Leninist science, Ho Chi Minh’s Ideology and foreign languages; The contest focuses on major-based subjects to create a solid foundation for the learning process; motivates students to strive for high results in their studying. This year, UD has continued to organize The Excellent students Contest of UD in 2018 with the following contents:
 
 
 
1. Applicants and conditions required for applying: 
– Regular students who are studying at member tertiary educational establishments, subordinate units,  having the score of the registered subject from  B point (credit system) and 7.0 score (academic year system) or more;
– Each student registers for the exam with no more than 02 subjects;
– Only subjects with 10 or more students registering for the exam can be included in the contest.
– Particularly, Vietnamese subject is only for overseas students who are studying at UD.
 
2. Time:
Students register for the contest (maximum 02 subjects/student): From March 1 to March 25, 2018 at: https://goo.gl/forms/mRdBCyQbz9keLQyx2  or at the Office of Student Affairs and English Faculty Office.
 
Opening ceremony is at 07:00 A.M on April 8, 2018
 
Time: April 8, 2018 at the University of Technology and Education – The University of Da Nang,  48 Cao Thang St., Hai Chau Dist., Da Nang City.
 
 
Closing and Awarding ceremony: 3:00 P.M on April 26, 2018 at The University of Da Nang
 
–  Subjects and forms of contest:
+ Math (General algebra and calculus), Physics, Chemistry.
 + Writing tests.
 + World’s civilization history, Vietnamese Culture, Vietnamese for international students.
 + Theoretical mechanics, Strength of materials.
 + Basic Principles of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh’s Ideology..
 + Economics, Introduction to Law.
+ Anatomy
 + Informatics (for General use and  Office use), Programming languages.
 + Foreign languages: English, French, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai (specialized and non-professional groups will take separate contest)
(*) The revision outline will be announced to students before March 10, 2018.
 
4. Prizes
 
– Individual award: Awarded to students who win the contest subjects with the following award levels:
+ First prize: 500,000 VND; Second prize: 400,000 VND; Third prize: 300,000 VND and Consolation Prize: 200,000 VND.
+ Organizing Board of UD shall decide on the number of prizes to be taken according to the actual results of the subjects (odd marks to 0.25) and the number of students attending each exam.
– Collective award: Including the whole team award and the movement award which will be given to member tertiary educational establishments, and subordinate units.
+ Team award: with the following prizes : First prize: 3,000,000 VND; Second prize: 2,000,000 VND and Third Prize: 1,000,000 VND.
+ Movement prize: Awarded to 01 member tertiary educational establishments, and subordinate units, who had the most students with the prize: 2,000,000 VND.
 
5. Benefits of students, member tertiary educational establishments, and subordinate units  when participating in the contest 
– Participants will receive a Certificate from the Organizing Committee and points added to the self-assessment results in the second semester of the 2017-2018 academic year as regulated, beside, they will receive an amount of training allowance (VND 50,000 / student / exam ).
– Students who win prizes are awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Director of UD, bonuses and other benefits as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training and the UD.
– Award-winning educational institutions and subordinate units  all receive flags with bonuses.
The Organizing Committee invites all eligible students to participate in the contest with the aim of demonstrating student’s competencies and skills. The results that you achieved in the exam will be recognized, evaluated, and valuable rewarded, and the experiences you get in the exam will really help you in studying and training yourself to continue to strive for greater success in the future.
